Lady in Miniature No. 1

Experimenting with smaller pieces... 2.5x3.5"
There's a little bit of pink in this, but the scan didn't pick it up very well.

The Dragon's Forest

A new look and a new blog!

I have imported the posts from my old blog, so that no one needs to jump back and forth.

Purple Girl + A Busy Summer!

Ipod doodle...

I assumed that my life would get quieter after graduation, but I'm hardly ever home! I started my new summer work schedule and there have been a dozen or so birthdays, anniversaries, a baby shower - not to mention mother's and father's day - in my family in just the last two months, with several more birthdays coming up in July and August... I've been a busy girl!

I'm working on a few small pieces of art, but I'm currently helping another artist with a project, and I've fallen victim to a dreadful obsession with True Blood, so my own projects have been thrown onto the back burner lately. There will be work here soon... I may have to start posting WIPs just to prove I haven't been too dreadfully lazy.

Doodle & Graduation

Just a doodle to show that I'm still alive. Even though it's dated from last year... what can I say? I've been busy! You know, doing important things like graduating and painting my toes...

Ipod Doodle

I love my ipod touch. I'm still not wonderful at the whole drawing-with-my-stubby-fingertip thing, but there are worse things than getting to doodle and read Sherlock Holmes in between classes...

It's Spring!

Which, of course, means that it's the end of the semester and I have absolutely no time to properly enjoy the weather. Luckily, I have my trusty little purse camera, so I caught some of these on my way in and out of work and class...

Isabella's Art Prints!

Recently, Isabella from Isabella's Art had a fan appreciation contest, and I was one of the lucky winners! The prize was six small prints from her Tell Me a Story project, and I got to chose my six favorites!

My prints arrived in the mail today, and I couldn't be more thrilled. The packaging was so beautiful and special (I've kept it! tehe), as you can see, and the prints are stunning.

Thank you so much, Isabella!

I highly recommend that you all take a look at Isabella's wonderful art. Not only is it lovely, it is meaningful, with almost every piece being accompanied by a beautiful story (and all of the images in the Tell Me a Story project are centered around folk tales!). See her blog here, and her official website here.

Also, check out my interview with Isabella here!

Quiet Forest

Pencil on 11x14" bristol board, scanned and colored in photoshop. I hope you like it!

Ipod Fish!

I've been not-so-subtly hinting that I wanted an ipod touch, ever since seeing some really nice ipod art. I guess Nate got tired of hearing it, because yesterday he came home with an ipod touch hidden in his pocket!

I've only purchased a few apps so far, one of them being Brushes. I'm still getting used to drawing with my finger (clearly), but it's kind of neat to have such a pint-sized sketching gadget. I'm also pretty happy about all of the free games I've downloaded. I got hooked on Castle Conflict and played for two hours straight last night...

My first sloppy finger sketch.

Anyway, it's probably time for me to put the ipod down and get back to my real work...

Fish Comic

This was my first attempt at a comic, to celebrate the dvd release of Ponyo.

I've been waiting patiently since summer to watch the movie again, but I got home today and found that one of my older ryukins (a type of goldfish), was pretty brutally beat up by the other fish. She's in a separate tank right now, but her fins are pretty damaged and she doesn't look too good... I'm still excited about Ponyo, but not really in the mood to watch a movie about fish right now...
