Another little Earth Fairy (in case you are wondering why these guys don't have wings, I'm planning on doing a sky and water series in the future). Hope you like her!

Now for the stylish blogs! Yeevon and Vanilla have nominated me for the Stylish Blog Award (aww, thanks, guys)! They have two of the BEST art blogs I have ever seen and you must, must, must check them out!
The award is a bit like tagging, and here are the rules:
Thank and link back to the person that awarded you.
Share 7 things about yourself.
Pay it forward to 15 recently discovered bloggers.
Contact those bloggers about the award!
7 Things:
1. I have two Cornish Rex, a type of semi-hairless cat. Some people think they look strange but they are my babies and I love them with all my heart.
2. I love Disney Princesses and I love Disney Princess dolls. I have quite a few and even had my fiance go on ebay to buy me the Jasmine doll I had when I was a little girl! (P.S. I loooove Tangled! tehe)
3. I am VERY interested in fairy tales and I love finding different versions and translations. I own several books, including three different versions of Arabian Nights (or 1001 Nights, depending on the work). One has three very thick volumes and accounts for all 1001 nights!
4. Some of my favorite fairy tale illustrators are Edmund Dulac, Arthur Rackham, Kay Nielsen, and Virginia Sterrett.
5. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I'm dreading taking down my Christmas tree!
6. I've had recurring tendinitis in my hands and wrists since the age of 16, so I can only draw and type for a limited amount of time before taking a break and I usually sleep with a brace on my right hand.
7. Tiny toys make me happy! I love My Little Ponies and Pinky St. figures and have a few on my computer desk right now!

Awww thanks SaraLynn! :) I'm with you on the whole taking down the Christmas tree thing, I'm really not looking forward to it at all, makes me very melancholy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for tagging me Sara! I will try to make a post about this very soon! It is awesome that you are interested in fairy tales because I enjoy reading them as well. I always try to find really old fairy tale books to look at the illustrations inside them, they always have the best ones! I also love to collect tiny toys! SO so aweeesome! Last but not least your new artwork is beautiful...and the way you portrayed the fairy is very magical!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being nominated. I do agree with Yeevon and Vanilla. You do have a great blog going and you're a darl for nominating lil old me! xo
ReplyDeleteYour art just keeps getting better and better! Seriously, this is amazing, so delicate and dreamy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm the same with fairytales! I've ended up coming across ones that are similar to others I've read before, I love spotting the differences in them. Also those are some of my favourite fairytale illustrators too :) I think fairytales have some of the most beautiful illustrations.
Hi Sara, thank you very much for tagging me!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to organize myself and make a post soon :)
This little fairy piece is really beautiful. How delicate and warm...
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love your illustrations, they are so soft~ Your interests remind me a lot of my daughter Laura (laurabeth89.blogspot.com) who is a graphic design student. She and her sister were crazy about Jasmine when they were little too! My daughters were always into fairies--I had to answer some pretty elaborate notes full of very in depth questions to the Tooth Fairy back in the day! Sheesh! We also have a very spoiled kitty cat --it's funny, but I have found that most "art people" are "cat people". Have a great evening!
ReplyDeleteYour art is getting better and better!!! :D
ReplyDeleteLove her so much and she looks so sweet and pretty wandering in the flower field!
p/s: Christmas is my favourite season tooooo! I wish I could have the christmas lights on my ceiling all year round XD XD Just love the sparkles and the moooooooood <3 <3
Thanks so much Saralynn, I feel very honoured to be among your list! Your pink fairy is gorgeous, I love all fairy-tale themed things too and have copies of the original Grimms Brothers stories. I never get tired of them! xx
ReplyDeleteOooo... me LURVE your teeny faerie!! I think it's okay for her not to have wings, bet she has a magic of her own, huh? (^_^)
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you, thank you, for passing me the award! "Stylish" is a pretty scary word for me, because I don't think I'm anywhere near it!! Hahaaa...
Hugs! oxx
