Presents to Myself.... (And 7 Things...)

So I have a habit of buying little things for myself when I am under stress. (READ: I recklessly spend money throughout the entire second half of any given semester.)

Anyway, I wanted to share my most recent etsy purchases! All of these items are handmade, inexpensive, and totally worth it.

From Yee Von:

I smiled so much when my mailman gave me this hand-decorate envelope! So precious!

So... I've got a confession: I'm a terrible photographer. Like, really terrible. So I hope you'll go see this gorgeous pocket mirror and postcard in Yee Von's shop, because I could just not do them any justice. (That little deer is the back of a hand-written note from Yee Von - so beautiful.)

(This image is taken from Alice's esty shop - I have the black cover version.)

This is the first story in the book. As soon as I got my package in the mail, I sat down and read this hand-made book cover-to-cover. It contains a mixture of beautiful and absolutely hilarious stories and poems, all of which I highly recommend! I didn't want to give anything away by posting photos, but this book is filled with some absolutely stunning illustrations that are not to be missed!

From Lulu Bug:

I have had this necklace for a few weeks now and it has quickly become one of my favorite necklaces! I am completely enamored with the delicate little bird and it looks good with everything! I got the tiny version, because I like small jewelry, but there is a larger version with this design as well.

Now, I was tagged by the lovely Vanilla, so here are 7 things you probably don't want to know about me...

1. I am going to school to be a children's librarian.
2. I drink way too much tea (as in 5 cups a day is a "slow day" for me).
3. My favorite charity is the World Wildlife Fund.
4. Rice noodles are delicious.
5. I love dolls, too! Pinky St and J-Dolls are my current favorites. I have too many, I don't know how my fiance lives with me.
6. I haven't been getting any homework done because I've been playing this game on my ipod.
7. I'm a Taylor Swift fan. Like, not even a closet Taylor Swift fan. It's bad.

I tag... Kathy, Cecil, Michele, and Shayla. <3

  1. I do that too - spend when I am stressed. Actually, I do that when I am not stressed also! I love the purchases you made!

I consider myself tagged! Stay tuned....

  2. How cute, a children's librarian. Sounds like so much fun!!! I also love tea, but hahah I don't drink 5 cups ;P

    Great post!
    much Love

  3. There is no such thing as 'too many' dolls haha. J-Dolls are so pretty too, I wish I owned one, or two.. or a few!
I love all those things you've purchased. That book looks amazing, I love handmade books!

  4. I've never seen a J-Doll in real life, but I would so love to see one some day, they have really pretty faces.
Mostly I like BJDs but I don't really have a collection (yet) since I only own one, but I have my eye on a couple of others I'd like one day. My other dolls are mostly second hand or bought from charity shop kind of things.
Just out of curiosity, how many dolls do you have?

  5. WOW, how on earth do you afford so many BJDs? Haha. I waited two years just for the one I have now. I would love to own that many one day.
Well one of my friends calls me a crazy doll lady but really I don't think I have too many... yet. Haha

  6. I am so guilty of stress spending! I work in a second hand retail store... it get's pretty bad. Some months I will bring something home everyday.

  7. Oh how fun! That necklace is sooo cute!!
(p.s. LOVE that unicorn print in your shop! :) )

  8. Oh awesome, I was tagged! That made my day! As soon as I can I will pass it on! What a fun idea...I also LOVE to buy things when I am feeling down, I don't know why but it makes me feel a lot better just having something "new," to look at. I love the amazing handmade items you have bought, I can't wait to buy some more art from Etsy is addicting!

  9. awww Thank you so much and very Glad you like them!! :D
I used to spend a lot when I'm under stress too but recent years I have swift that spending habits into eating... gosh..!

p/s: I took a sneak peak into Alice LeGrow's shop and her illustrations are beautiful.

  10. You have excellent taste! I love the things you bought. I'm a stress-spender too - which is really bad because I'm often stressed about money and spending doesn't help!

  11. So pleased I'm not the only one who buys myself presents in times of stress! And what better to make your day than something hand made with love, dropping into your mailbox?

  12. I really like your art style, it's so grainy and warm. That bird's nest picture flows so well with the hair. Nice drawing and I love the necklace too :)
